Decorating glass,
a craft of its own

Be curious, and you’ll be amazed by the opportunities glass offers

Often little known – even among professionals – glass decoration is a true craft, relying on specific techniques passed down through generations. La Compagnie du Verre’s ambition is to practice this craft fully and with great mastery, but also to raise awareness about it, offering professionals in decoration and design more possibilities for their creations and, consequently, their recommendations.

Let’s Talk Technique

The workshop works with existing glass – whether flat, curved, or in a specific shape – and decorates it using various techniques. The material is first deeply worked through sandblasting and/or bush hammering. These two main techniques offer a wide range of finishes, notably thanks to the mastery of different stencils and processes. Then, coloring techniques, mainly gilding, are applied to enrich the creation. Glass shaping is also explored, particularly through UV bonding, allowing for precise and elegant assemblies.

Glass, Much More Than a Transparent Material

Glass is not just a simple material : it is a sensory playground where light, shapes, and textures merge to create true works of art. Far beyond decorative, it invites endless creativity, offering a multitude of possibilities where each piece becomes unique. Often valued for its transparency, glass actually has many other facets: shades, depth, brilliance, and vibrations. Matte, glossy, engraved, colored, opaque, and more – its plasticity encourages pushing the boundaries of imagination and redefining form and light.
